This workshop is open to all experience levels. This class is focused upon surface decoration techniques, illustration and storytelling on clay, and developing your personal artistic style. Participants will learn about underglaze, underglaze mixing, underglaze pencils, drawing, inlaying images onto greenware tiles and “watercolouring” with underglaze on bisqueware tiles.
Materials provided courtesy of Speedball Underglaze & Chrystanthos Underglaze Pencils, but feel free to bring bisqueware to practice on.
Participants receive a free underglaze pencil with the class.
About the Artist
Laura (they/she) is a UK born, US based ceramic artist whose practice explores material, narrative, human touch, colour and play. Laura studied ceramics at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and has worked as a ceramics artist and educator for the last decade teaching and making in art centers across the country. Laura Lives in a travel trailer with her husband and two cats, they are currently moving from state to state making and teaching in community art studios along the way.
